The history of the Albanian Band begins in the town of Scutari in 1878. The first Albanian band was founded by two Italians: one of them was a franciscan priest called Friar Antonio Marcozzi and Giovanni Canale from Naples who had been the first director for 4 years. Also tthe instruments arrived to Scutari From Italy.

In the last band festival which takes places every year and that this year was in Saranda, a town by Greece, the Scutari band won the first prize for the Albanian bands. In 2009 Albanian Band of Scutari won first prize at Festibande in Giulianova.
