CorpoBandisticoBandistico Città di Ispica” was founded in 1863for thewill of the local administration of the time and the current formation places itself in an historical continuitywiththis first unit.

It has had alimited number of Conductors: this has determineda strong characterization of formations and repertoire on the personality and sensitivityof each one. It has always had an organic at least of 50 elements, granting the local elements, avoiding the exterior integrations.

In 1982 it has been calledbytheFaculty of Arts andPhilosophy of the University of Palermo to realize the LP “Bande di Sicilia” to make the incision of “Cristo alla Colonna”.

Since 2004 GianninoAmore has beenthe Conductors, who holds thePostgraduate Diploma in Instrumentation for Band at the prestigious Conservatory of Bari.

Among themost important realizations of the last years there are:

1. the realization, in 2007, of a double CD with the title “NOTEDI PASSIONE”;
2. the excursionin2007 in RUTI (CH), (twinned withIspica);
3. the “Rassegna Bandistica” on themusical literature funeral-elegiac inSicily, arrived inthe Sixth edition thanks to the partecipationofbands coming fromall the island.

Themaintenance of the organic it’s possible only thanks to amusical school that offers continuously new lymph. The current formationcounts up about 60 unities.
