The nucleus of the Bahrain Defence Forces Music Band was created in July 1969: it was made up of 52 members belonging to the military training center,and was subsequently called the Music Wing; in 1971, the first batch of the music course graduated and the Music Wing became independent from the Training Center with its own budget.

Between 1972 and 1974 the second music basic course was held for a period of two years, consisting of 45 members of the band of the Bahrain Defence Force and 60 members of the band of the Ministry of Interior, and again, from 1979 to 1981 the third music basic course was held for a period of two years, consisting of two groups: the band of the Bahrain Defence Force, and the band of the Ministry of Interior.

In 1980, the Music Band travels abroad to take part in a festival in France, where they will perform many times with the passing of the years.

In 2009 and 2010 some members of the band train music courses, as well as repair-workshop of musical instruments, in the Sultanate of Oman as well as in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan With the occasion of 2012 Giulianova International Music Festival, the band performs in Italy for the first time.
