The Musical Band of the Ciy of Casperia dates back to 1890 but its activity was interrupted during the two world wars. The Band was reformed in 1975 thanks to the passion and will of several other musicians who had belonged to the band after WWII. They were able to interest the young generation and help them find cultural , social and moral enrichment through music. Today the band has 30 elements and is directed by Maestro Giuseppe De Simoni.The band has performed abroad in France, Spain, the Czech Republic and Austria. It has also performed in numerous Italian events and competitions. In 2003 at the well known band competition in Scandicci it took first place as marching band and also for having the youngest musician in the competition. The band has performed at events in Teramo, Terni, Fornale-Amelia, Recanati, Sassoferrato andTivoli, not to mention marching in the park of Mirabilandia. It has also participated in Loreto and in Rome during the “Viva la Befana” on Via della Conciliazione. The latest participation was in 2014 in the 400th Masked Parade of Viarreggio.Casperia hosts a summer event called “IncontroMusica” organized by the band and the Majorette group which is dedicated to a gathering of both bands and majorettes.
LE MAJORETTES OF CASPERIA
The “Majorettes of Casperia” group began in 1994. It is formed by 15 girls and 10 mini majorettes. The group has developed a rich repertory of performances including folkloristic, pop and dance exhibitions The majorettes have performed in many events both nationally such as Sanremo in Fiore 2013 and the 2014 National competition for Majorettes in Faleria taking 2nd place .and abroad in Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland and Croatia. In 2014 the group also participated in the World Championship in Porec, Croatia winning 6th place.
